Intermediate Tap with Sam Weber 3:00PM (1 hour classes)

Tuesdays, 3:00pm - 4:00pm

$150

The heyday of tap dance is no longer behind us! Tap has reemerged as a vital, creative art. Popularized by such great dancers as Fred Astaire, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Ann Miller, Eleanor Powell and Gene Kelly, tap has found new inspiration through the work of Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, the Jazz Tap Ensemble and, most recently, Dorrance Dance. In this class you’ll learn how to build on the fundamentals, adding sounds to the basic steps and creating faster and more intricate rhythms. Sam Weber, tap dancer and former principal dancer with the Jazz Tap Ensemble, works internationally as a performer, master teacher, and choreographer. A protégé of San Francisco tap master Stan Kahn, he is the winner of numerous awards including the New York Dance Critics’ “Bessie” and the “Hoofer Award” given by the American Tap Dance Foundation.

Maximum enrollment for each class: 10 students.
