Lunchtime Storytelling

every second & fourth Wednesday—Starting on Appril 26, 2023

Ben Tucker, AKA Brother Ben, performs part of a Stagebridge Seniors Reaching Out Performance.

Stagebridge Bill Zarchy performs at the Lunchtime Storytelling prior to the Pandemic.

Community Outreach Manager Barbara Johnson and Stagebridge storyteller and author Ben Tucker now lead the return of Lunchtime Storytelling.

Previously a monthly new works showcase and one of the longest-running Stagebridge programs, Lunchtime Storytelling now welcomes new and returning artists to become part of the new Seniors Reaching Out storytelling cohort.

Meeting every second and fourth Wednesday, Lunchtime Storytelling will be a welcoming and safe space for tellers to perform and develop new work for live audiences.

On the second Wednesday, performances will be held at the First Congregational Church of Oakland at 12pm (Noon). On the fourth Wednesday, performances will be held at Medical Hill Healthcare Center at 2:15pm (475 29th St, Oakland, CA).

Community Outreach Manager Barbara Johnson leads both Senior Reaching Out and community-led storytelling partnerships.

Lunchtime Storytelling performers will also be the first in line for larger performance opportunities at local venues such as The Marsh, Freight & Salvage, and City of Oakland Senior Centers.

Join fellow collaborators and new friends for the return of engaging, in-person storytelling at Stagebridge—and across the entire Bay Area!
