It's time once again for Grandparent's Tales! Now in its 25th year, this program for children is part of the "bridge" in Stagebridge's community, giving kids and the older adults in their lives the opportunity to bond. Children interview a grandparent or other older adult and transcribe their stories, often complete with an original illustration. Selected stories will be re-published in a newspaper, read on television or a public Grandparent's Tales event, or published on our website. Read one of our best-known entries here!
If you are an educator who is interested in participating in the program, please contact Barbara Johnson at: barbara@stagebridge.org. Grandparent's Tales is open to all children aged 6-12 from any school; info and entry forms can be found here.
We are also currently accepting book donations for Grandparent's Tales participating classrooms. If you would like to donate new / gently used children's books for ages 6-12, please mail or drop them off to us at Stagebridge, 2501 Harrison St. Oakland, CA 94612.
