Bring your grandkids, family, and friends to see “JACKIE AND THE BEANSTALK, and the Giant, and the Goose, and the Really Truly-Uly Rotten Day!” It’s East Bay Children’s Theatre’s (EBCT’s) fabulous production of Ron Lytle’s classic tale—only this time there’s a fresh new gender swap. Yes! Jackie is a girl! Learn more at:
Come take a trip up a giant beanstalk, and into a world of music, comedy, and magic with a wacky cast of characters including the troubled Jackie, a vainglorious cow called Rita, an overworked and underpaid golden goose (Lucy), a diminutive giant with an ENORMOUS Napoleon complex, and Stagebridge’s own TERRY PINK ALEXANDER playing Jackie’s distraught momma.
In this updated version of the story, an adult cast of professional singers, dancers and actors will delight children and adults alike with its upbeat attitude, clever comedy, and Broadway-style songs. Do NOT miss it!

“Sunday in the Park with George” — Featuring Our Own Matthew Standley
Take a stroll through art, music, and imagination in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Pulitzer Prize–winning masterpiece, Sunday in the Park with George, now on stage at Shotgun Players in Berkeley. Inspired by Georges Seurat’s pointillist painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, this luminous musical explores what it means to create, to connect, and to keep seeing the world in color.
We’re especially proud that this production features Stagebridge’s own Matthew Standley, bringing his signature heart, humor, and vocal brilliance to the stage. Matthew embodies the spirit of continual learning and artistic growth that defines our community—proving that the creative journey is never finished, just evolving.
Whether you’re a Sondheim devotee or discovering the show for the first time, Sunday in the Park with George offers a rich, emotional tapestry about the tension between art and life, solitude and connection.
🎟️ Performances run now at Shotgun Players, Berkeley.
