Music & Singing

Singing with Scrumbly

April 20 – June 25 (10 weeks)

Explore your voice in a supportive setting with solos, duets, group camaraderie, and a final recorded showcase.

Thursdays, 1 pm - 3 pm · Angel Room

Students will listen deeply, sing together, analyze lyrics, explore rhythms, and create their own folk-inspired piece. Journey through the roots of human expression and the shared heartbeat that connects cultures across time.

Harmony & Joy: Group Singing for All Levels

A choral‑lite class with accessible harmonies, rhythm play, and group
singing, all anchored by live piano to keep things fun, steady, and musical.

Storytelling Plus!

Blend storytelling with movement, music, and rhythm. Explore dance, drumming, and song to bring stories to life.

Telling to Children

Tuesdays, 1 pm - 3 pm · Angel Room

Learn how to tell and create stories for children of all ages.  Explore adding music, movement, home-made instruments, various unusual props, and puppets to enhance your stories and engage children in classrooms, assemblies, libraries, and at home, as well as explore how to guide children in creating their stories.

Craft authentic narratives from life experiences with prompts, peer feedback, and guidance from a master storyteller.

Intro to Improv: Games, Games, Games!

Using classic improv games, students will explore the power of yes-and
while making your partner shine! No prior Improv experience required.

Improv 2: Scenes and Characters

Using character games and scene work, unique to the world of improv, Improvisers will explore long-form formats of improv, creating worlds
and stories never seen or heard before! Prior improv experience appreciated.

Embodied Performance Technique for Actors

An energizing 8-week class awakening the body as the actor’s expressive instrument. Through voice, simple movement, breath, and guided physical exploration, actors build presence, confidence, and specificity in their work.

Tap Dancing

Instructor: Daphne Wong

April 16 - June 18 (10 weeks)

Beginner: Thursdays, 9 am – 10:30 am · Reidenbach Hall
Intermediate: Thursdays, 10:30 am – 12 pm · Reidenbach Hall

Covering tap vocabulary with an emphasis on developing a strong technical foundation, and combinations that challenge both feet and mind, cultivate skills, memory and musical sense. Tap shoes or hard-soled shoes are recommended.

iIntro to Mask & Commedia Dell’arte

Instructor: M Graham Smith

April 13 - May 11 (5 weeks)

Mondays, 10 am – 12 pm · New Oakland Room

Using mask traditions from cultures around the world with a particular
focus on the Commedia Dell’arte from Italy, explore the joy of the mask,
as well as the imaginative leaps and states of inspiration that come from
an “outside-in” approach to character development.
